PH’s first Miss Supranational continues to work at hardware store

Mutya Johanna Datul said that she has decided to maintain a simple life even after winning an international beauty pageant title.

It can be recalled that Datul made history back in September 2013 by becoming the first-ever Asian and Filipina to bag the Miss Supranational crown.

However, while most beauty queens would go on to pursue a career in the entertainment or fashion industry after their reign, Datul has chosen to get a job that is far from the glitz and glamour of the world of pageantry.

She revealed in an interview with that after she passed on the crown, she is now working as a receipt checker at a hardware store in 10th Avenue, Caloocan City.

While Datul has some showbiz project here and there, she said that working in a hardware store helps her with her monthly expenses.

She also takes public transportation to go to her job just like an ordinary person.

But aside from her job at a hardware store, she is also a Viva Films talent who will soon appear on the movie “Sanggano, Sanggago at Sanggwapo” with Janno Gibbs, Andrew E., and Dennis Padilla.

Datul charmed pageant fans with her incredible rags-to-riches story. She was born and raised Isabela and moved to Manila to seek better opportunities.

She joined Mutya ng Pilipinas in 2012 and Binibining Pilipinas the year after wherein she won one of the titles.

Datul then went on to represent the Philippines in the Miss Supranational pageant in 2013 which she won and wherein she was also named as Miss Personality.
