Just about anyone has had an experience worrying about the effects of swallowing gum, but how about metal? Oh, and we’re not just talking about a tiny metal bolt or screw, we’re talking about a nails, pens, spoons, and more! The doctors were in for a shock when they performed an operation to a 43-year old woman when they saw just that. Apparently, the condition is called “Metal bezoar” and occurs when a person suffers from a mental illness, is mentally retarded, or suffers from depression swallows foreign objects.
It wasn’t just metal though, this patient was found to have wood, hair, and even a toothbrush in her stomach.

According to the report by Manila Readers, apparently the woman in this photo has a history of metal bezoar and swallowed a lot of foreign objects in the past.

Basically, this woman had a junk shop worth of stuff in her stomach and of course, that led to a lot of problems like indigestion, stomach pains, and vomiting. Fortunately, the doctors were able to successfully extracted the debris from the patient who was indeed suffering from a psychiatric disorder.
