A Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councilor is currently in hot water after he allegedly disrespected a teacher.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, a teacher from Brgy. Virgen delas Flores in Baliuag, Bulacan narrated how an SK councilor talked down to her and insulted her. According to her, she merely asked him if he wanted to volunteer for the Brigada Eskwela program of their school.
The teacher shared:
Ako kasi wala, dahil TEACHER LANG NAMAN AKO.”
The lecturer said she found it ironic that the counselor’s response to her offer was less than warm, especially since he was assigned to the education cluster of their barangay’s SK.
She then went on to say how she has been humbly serving our country for years now, asking what the counselor has done for the Philippines.
The teacher wrote:
KAMI reports that she initially tried to introduce herself properly to the councilor. However, things quickly escalated into a heated argument. Her fellow academics then tried telling the SK councilor that she was, in fact, a teacher.
In response, the councilor allegedly raised his voice and said, “TEACHER KA LANG, SK AKO.”
For his part, the SK councilor took to Facebook to say that he will not take back what he said. While the councilor initially posted a status that read, “REGRETS!”, he posted another message saying the public was too quick to judge him. He added that he would actually rather lose his position than apologize.
