Former Senate president Edgardo Angara departed from ‘apparent cardiac arrest’ at 83

MANILA, Philippines—It was a sad week for the Senate and the Philippines as they experienced a tragic loss. Sunday, May 13, marks the day when former Senate President Edgardo Angara left us. The ‘longest-serving senator in the post-EDSA Senate left us due to an ‘apparent heart attack.’

It is with a heavy heart that Senator Sonny Angara announced on social media that his father was gone. According to the 45-year-old senator, his father suffered cardiac arrest in the early morning of Sunday. When afternoon came, the senator broke the tragic news on Twitter.

Soon enough, various local news outlet broke the news on social media. Many people all over the nation, particularly Edgardo Angara’s supporters, expressed their condolences and prayers to the family.
