As a Filipino, taho has to be one of my favorite treats growing up. I vividly remember waking up to the shouts of a taho vendor. My siblings and I would quickly run downstairs just to get a fresh cup of silky tofu doused with brown syrup and sago pearls. These kinds of simple experiences definitely made our childhood worth remembering.
However, most of us don’t know what it’s like to be a taho vendor. Imagine having to carry such heavy equipment all over the city looking for customers. There usually isn’t a moment to rest because they have to work hard to earn a living.

This daily grind will definitely create a negative impact on one’s health. This is why netizens became worried about the health condition of a 69-year-old taho vendor still subjecting himself to this hard life. A Facebook user named Kevin Cads shared photos of the poor old man, weakly smiling while he tries his best to carry his goods.
Everyone noticed the tired posture of this senior citizen warped by the long hours of walking. Kevin also shared how the vendor didn’t have enough strength to shout “taho” to his customers. The sight has broken thousands of hearts and urged netizens to share the Facebook post, hoping to find someone who can help the elderly taho vendor.

People tagged television shows they could help like “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” and “Day Off.” We certainly agree that all hard-working Filipinos, especially the elderly, deserve a long overdue break.
