In an unfortunate turn of events, four-year-old Jenny Rose from Ilagan, Isabela passed away from bacterial meningitis. Heartbroken, her parents laid the little girl to her final rest. However, days after her burial the couple decided to exhume her remains because they took some curious advice from an arbularyo (folk healer).
Well, the arbularyo advised the couple that their precious, beloved little girl might still be alive! Yes, after four days of the child being buried, her family had a sudden glimmer of hope that she might still be around.
Armed with spades, the men in the family took the child out from her buried coffin, and brought her back home. Following instructions from the folk healer, Jenny Rose’s father watched the young girl’s remains for 24 hours.
The albularyo said there is a chance that Jenny Rose would open her eyes and come back to life.
Members of their family easily believed the quack advice, as they also noticed something curious with the girl’s remains — even after four days of being buried, her body wasn’t rigid from rigor mortis at all! Also, her mother noticed urine and fecal waste in the body, prompting her to change Jenny Rose’s clothes.
Unfortunately no miracles happened and the little girl remained dead.
