Lucky OFW receives car as gift from her employer

A lucky overseas Filipino worker received a car from her employer as a gift.
The 47-year-old, Dina Tenerife Celo is one lucky OFW in Abu Dhabi to land herself a kind and very generous employer. In 2017, Dina was also featured in the news after her employer gave her  house and lot. And recently, January 3, 2019, Dina once again received an incredible gift she did not expect.
Dina’s employer, Melissa McPike, gave her a secondhand Nissan car to save her form the hassle of commuting. Dina oftentimes visit her son who is also working in Abu Dhabi. But to get to him, she has to ride the bus twice. She said that it was really tiring and time-consuming.
“Kasi nakikita nya na lagi akong nahihirapan at naghahabol ng oras tuwing sumasakay ako ng bus para bisitahin ang aking anak na nandito rin sa UAE. Kapag wala kasing available na sasakyan, sa bus ako sumasakay,” Dina said. “Ang hirap sumakay ng bus. Kailangan ng dalawang sakay sa bus para makapunta doon. Inaabot ako ng mahigit ilang oras sa biyahe. Kaya sobrang laking tulong nito.”
She said that the commute became even harder when a re-routing happened last December.
“Last December lang nung nagbago yung mga bus schedule. Yung dalawang sakay ko lang dati, naging limang sakay na. Nag-iba kasi ang mga ruta ng bus. Mula noon, nahihirapan na ako,” she said.
Her employer might have noticed her struggles just to see her son. She was surprised and confused when her Madam Missa told her, “After two weeks, no more bus.”
Then two weeks after, Melissa handed her the key to her very own car.
Dina was able to test drive her car when she and her friends went out for a simple celebration last January 4, Friday.
Dina had really grown close to her employers who also became her second family why she is away from her loved ones in the Philippines.
Aside from the car, Melissa’s children Saeed and Saif, also gave Dina gifts.
This is not the first time that Dina’s employer became generous to her, last 2017, her employer gave her Dh23,000 or around P320,000 to buy a land in her hometown in Camarines Sur.
And not just that, Melissa also helped Dina in financing the construction of her dream house. Dina shared that her house is almost complete. Her employer promised her that they would be her first visitors once the house was finished.
