Let’s look back at Angelica Panganiban’s journey from Becky to one of the Philippine’s most brilliant actresses

Angelica Panganiban is without a doubt one of the brightest stars in the Philippine local showbiz industry. After all, nobody could ever deny that apart from her good looks, she has exemplary talent when it comes to acting.

The Kapamilya star was born as Angelica Charlson, daughter to a Filipina mother and American resident Mark David Charlson. Unfortunately, Angelica’s mother passed in 2008 and was laid to rest in Singapore. She assumed the last name, Panganiban from her adoptive parents.

At six years old, Angelica entered show business as a mainstay in the now-defunct afternoon kiddie gag show, “Ang TV.” But before her TV appearance, she first started landing roles in movies. In 1994, she played the role of Jenne in “Separada” together with Diamond Star Maricel Soriano. It didn’t take long for Angelica’s talent to be recognized. In the same year, she bagged the Best Child Actress award from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS).

The following year, she was once again nominated for a FAMAS award for her role as Becky in “Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa.” From then on, Angelica’s acting career didn’t go anywhere but up, bringing along with her a plethora of nominations and awards for her acting skills.

In 1999, Angelica appeared in one of local Pinoy TV’s notable series, “Gimik” where she was paired with Carlo Aquino. She and Carlo even took their onscreen pairing off-screen for a brief period until they ended their relationship in good terms.

Fast forward to 2008, Angelica bagged another award yet again. This time, it was a Best Supporting Actress award from f the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP). She also landed on another FAMAS award in 2012 for “Segunda Mano” and several awards for her comedic roles on film and TV.

Currently, Angelica is setting social media abuzz with her recent reunion with Carlo Aquino. Years after their pairing lied low, sparks started to fly between them onscreen as they made the movie, “Exes Baggage.”

Many of the CarGel fans were so happy to finally their favorite love team back together. Some are even wondering if their sweetness is just for show or have the two already decided on giving their relationship another chance because of the many social media posts they have together.
